Between November 11 and December 10, 2024, team members of the partner institution from the Republic of Moldova (National Institute of Economic Research (INCE) of AESM) participated in the research internship at the Institute of World Economy of the Romanian Academy, within the project PN-IV-P8-8.3-ROMD-2023-0052 „Consolidation of expertise in financial and fiscal integration”.
A series of events took place during this internship aimed at consolidating and capitalizing on the potential of expertise/excellence of researchers from Romania and the Republic of Moldova in the field of financial and fiscal integration.
The mobility of researchers from the Republic of Moldova aimed to ensure the exchange of good practices, through the participation of team members in the doctoral school courses organized by the Doctoral School of Economic Sciences of the Romanian Academy, but also through research trainings organized by the Romanian institution, such as: „Open Science Practices (Part I)”, „Writing a Project Proposal (Part I)”, „Writing a Scientific Article”, „The Character of Monetary and Fiscal Policy in the Face of Inflationary Shock. Case Study: Romania”, „Architecture of the New Economic Governance Framework in the European Union”.
In addition, working sessions were held on achieving the common scientific objectives of the project, as well as several important events such as: the International Workshop „Modest Growth and Regional Imbalances”, the IEM Reflection Group: Global 3G – „Repositioning Economic Actors in Globalization Geopolitical and Geostrategic Impact”, the International Conference „Challenges In The New Era Of Globalization” (GLOBERA) XIV Edition. The participation of members of the partner institution from the Republic of Moldova contributed to the transfer of knowledge between the partner institutions of the project.

În perioada 28 – 31 octombrie 2024, Institutul Național de Cercetări Economice (INCE) al ASEM a organizat o serie de evenimente în contextul vizitei de cercetare a delegației din România, reprezentată de dr. habil. Mihai NIȚOI și dr. Dorina CLICHICI, din cadrul Institutului de Economie Mondială al Academiei Române, dar și dr. habil. Maria-Miruna POCHEA, profesor universitar în cadrul Universității Babeș-Bolyai, Facultatea de Științe Economice și Gestiunea Afacerilor, Departamentul Finanțe.
în cadrul vizitei au fost organizată o ședință de lucru cu participarea membrilor echipei proiectului bilateral PN-IV-P8-8.3-ROMD-2023-0052 – Consolidarea expertizei în integrarea financiară și fiscal. În cadrul ședinței de lucru, dr. Dorina CLICHICI, director de proiect și membrii echipei din România și Republica Moldova au discutat rezultatele intermediare obținute. Corina Chironachi, doctorandă și membru de echipă în acest proiect, a prezentat raportul Modalități și factori de dezvoltare a instrumentelor politicii fiscale pentru facilitarea tranziției către economia verde în Republica Moldova.
Vizitele de lucru ale cercetătorilor științifici din România reprezentă un bun prilej pentru a discuta probleme de interes comun asupra unor modului în care cunoștințele și comportamentul economic influențează guvernanța economică. Întâlnirile contribuie la dezvoltarea parteneriatului științific dintre Institutul Național de Cercetări Economice, ASEM din Republica Moldova, Institutul de Economie Mondială al Academiei Române și Institutul Național de Cercetări Economice al Academiei Române, networking-ul organizat extinzând posibilitățile de colaborare și participare la programele de finanțare ale Uniunii Europene.

On October 17, 2024, in Budapest, the international conference Financial Resilience and recovery from inflation shock was held, organized by the Ludovika University of Public Service from Hungary, during which was presented the research entitled Monetary and fiscal policy resilience in the face of the recent inflationary shock: The case of Romania, authors: Dr. Dorina Clichici, Dr. Angela Timuș.
The research was carried out within the project Consolidation of expertise in financial and fiscal integration (EFXIN), financed by the Romanian Ministry of Education, through UEFISCDI, project number PN-IV-P8-8.3-ROMD-2023-0052.

ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING THE LAUNCH OF THE BILATERAL PROJECT ENHANCING EXPERTISE IN FINANCIAL AND FISCAL INTEGRATION (EFXIN), PROJECT NUMBER PN-IV-P8-8.3-ROMD-2023-0052
On June 17, 2024, the bilateral project ENHANCING EXPERTISE IN FINANCIAL AND FISCAL INTEGRATION (EFXIN), PN-IV-P8-8.3-ROMD-2023-0052, was launched, within Program 5.8 – European and International Cooperation Collaboration projects with the Republic of Moldova. The project aims to strengthen financial and fiscal expertise, through the development of a set of scientific tools, in the European integration process of the Republic of Moldova. The project period is June 1, 2024 – May 31, 2026.
The project is implemented by the Institute for World Economy, Romanian Academy, being coordinated by Dr. Dorina CLICHICI, together with the team members: Dr. Mihai NIȚOI, Dr. Simona MOAGĂR-POLADIAN, Dr. Miruna POCHEA, Dr. Alina AVRAM.
The team from the partner institution from the Republic of Moldova, the National Institute for Economic Research is coordinated by Associate Professor Angela TIMUȘ. The members of the research team from the Republic of Moldova are: Dr. Tatiana COVALSCHI (USM), Nicu ȘARGU (PhD student, Academy of Economic Studies from Moldova), Corina CHIRONACHI (PhD student, of the Academy of Economic Studies from Moldova).
During the meeting, the main objectives planned within the project for the year 2024 were discussed and the work plan for achieving these objectives was developed. The first results of the research activity carried out within the project were also presented, materialized by the publication of the joint article Monetary Support and State Aid under the Pandemic Challenges in Romania: A Comparative Approach, in the ROMANIAN JOURNAL OF EUROPEAN AFFAIRS, Vol. 24, No 1, June 2024.
The activities to be carried out by the project team between June and December 2024 are:
- Secondary data collection for the development of an open access database on the main fiscal policy decisions taken by the Republic of Moldova
- Estimating the level of financial and fiscal integration by applying regression models and other research tools;
- Dissemination of project results through the publication of scientific articles, communications, newsletters published on the project website and social networks;
- Research trainings

ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING THE SIGNING OF THE PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE ACADEMY OF ECONOMIC STUDIES FROM MOLDOVA AND THE INSTITUTE FOR WORLD ECONOMY OF THE ROMANIAN ACADEMY
On July 22, 2024, the Institute for World Economy of the Romanian Academy signed a partnership agreement with the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (ASEM), which provides for various aspects of collaboration in the field of scientific research. This agreement is a logical continuation of the existing sustainable relations between the National Institute of Economic Research (currently a component part of ASEM) and the Institute for World Economy.
We mention that the results of the collaboration between the National Institute of Economic Research and the Institute of World Economy materialized through the winning of the bilateral project ENHANCING EXPERTISE IN FINANCIAL AND FISCAL INTEGRATION (EFXIN), PN-IV-P8-8.3-ROMD-2023-0052, under the framework of the competition Projects of collaboration with the Republic of Moldova, launched by the Romanian Ministry of Education. The project aims to develop a set of scientific tools to facilitate the European integration process of the Republic of Moldova and is implemented by the World Economy Institute, coordinated by Dr. Dorina CLICHICI. We thank ASEM vice-rector, Mrs. Dr. Victoria COCIUG for facilitating the conclusion of the agreement and participating in the productive discussions, which represented a solid basis for new joint scientific projects.
